A Message from Mark: President, Canadian Channel Chiefs Council
I would like to share an update with all of you as we head into 2026. This is a time of both immense change and challenge for all of us as leaders in industry in Canada. As a great leader once told me: “never waste a good crisis” and I can honestly say there’s never been a time where I’ve seen more opportunity than now.
My journey as President of C4 has been an amazing experience, getting to know all of you as well as many CIO’s, media and experts from coast to coast to coast. When I look at the many relationships built, insights shared, and opportunities realized as a result of engaging with such an amazing group, C4 has been an incredible gift for me and I hope it has been for you as well. That said, I have been leading C4 while balancing the growth of my company, F2Factor: helping leaders and businesses unlock their path to growth. F2Factor, thanks to you and your partners, continues to grow and the opportunity to positively impact Canadian businesses, leaders and entrepreneurs I find incredibly rewarding. I am also Chairman of the Board of Cycling Canadaat a monumental time. Canada will be hosting the world cycling championships in Montreal this September with more than 300,000 guests expected to experience one of the largest sporting events ever held in Canada and I am proud to be representing Canada at the world congress.
With all that said the time has come for me to take the next step with C4. In the new year, I will be transitioning from my role as President, to President Emeritus. Though I will no longer be part of the day-to-day leadership and running of C4, I remain deeply connected as a member and look forward to continuing to host, and participate Council events in the years ahead.
When my tenure as President began, our community was emerging from the global pandemic, navigating uncertainty while rediscovering momentum. Together, we helped the Canadian channel rise again—reconnecting leaders, strengthening partnerships, and restoring the sense of purpose that defines this Council. We also carried the torch forward after the passing of Fawn, honoring her legacy by continuing to build a strong, inclusive, and forward-looking organization rooted in collaboration.
Over these three years, the pace of transformation has been nothing short of extraordinary. We’ve seen artificial intelligence move from promise to practice, reshaping business models and redefining value across the channel. The modern workplace has continued its evolution, balancing flexibility, productivity, and culture in new ways. We’ve navigated a significant wave of mergers and acquisitions, as familiar names gained new scale and ambition within the Canadian market, and a new generation of startups emerged—bringing innovation, disruption, and fresh perspective to our ecosystem.
Looking toward 2026, I am filled with anticipation. We stand on the eve of some of the most dramatic transformations our industry has ever seen: from hyper-investment in Canadian data centre capacity to ensure leadership in AI, to massive acceleration in security driven by data sovereignty, and a third wave of modern workplace evolution as return-to-work mandates and next-generation talent find a new equilibrium.
There has never been a better time to be part of the Canadian channel. Leading through tumultuous times is never easy, but the year ahead will truly separate leaders from followers. The channel community has shaped my career, and I remain committed to its success.
My sincere best wishes to all of you and your families—and here’s to a prosperous, transformative 2026 for the channel in Canada.
